When Mewtwo was dropped from Brawl, it was the moan heard-round-the-world. Don't worry Pokefans, He's back. He hasn't changed too much from Melee, but he can still smash with the best of them.
How to Unlock[]
- Play 300 standard matches
- Accumulate over 20 hours of powered-on time (have the game on for a total of over 20 hours)
Note:You must defeat Mewtwo in a standard match after 1 of the above requirements is met in order to unlock him.
- Get Mewtwo to join your party in "Tabuu's Revenge:Space-Time Chaos"
Weight Category: Middleweight
Changes from Melee[]
- Can Glide (because he could fly in the anime)
- Now has a final smash
- Disable is changed a little bit, I'll get more into that later
Special Moves[]
- Neutral Special Move:Shadow Ball
- Side Special Move:Confusion
- 'Up Special Move: Teleport
- Down Special Move:Disable
Description: In Melee, Disable stunned an opponent for only a second. This time around, it's a little different. The higher an opponents damage meter, the longer they remain stunned.
- Final Smash:Psybeam
Description: Similar to Lucario's Aura Storm except it's a different color and it emanates from his eyes.
Snake Codec Message[]
Snake:"Hey! Isn't that Mewtwo, the Genetic Pokemon?"
Mei Ling:"Yeah, he was originally in Melee, but Lucario replaced him in Brawl.
Snake:"Too bad, I really wanted to see how I'd measure up to him."
Mei Ling:"Well, looks like now's your chance, Snake."
Snake:"Yeah, and I've always wanted to ask him what that tube thing on the back of his neck is."
Mei Ling:"Uhh... I think he might be a little sensitive about that."
Note:The remark about how Snake wanted to see how he measured up to Mewtwo is meant as a reference to the fact that Snake's creators "practically begged" for Snake to be in Melee. Super Smash Bros. Melee was already too far in development for Snake to be included however.

Fighting against Mewtwo[]
Mewtwo has plenty of countering and disabling attacks, making the Pokemon effective when on the defensive. Use a "Smash-n-Dash" strategy. If you can't use this, keep him close and keep up a steady barrage of quick standard attacks until he's vulnerable to a powerful attack. Mewtwo has very little traction on any stage, so he's relatively easy to push off the stage.
