Super Smash Bros. Cruelty is a Smash Bros. game developed by Sora Ltd. and published by Nintendo. This is the fifth installment of the Smash Bros. series and the first spin off series.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay hasn't changed since the last installments, however now the percent of damage is replaced with a health meter. If a character is attacked, the health bar will be depleted (also showing how much damage the character has taken). When a health meter is fully depleted, the character will be incapacitated for a few seconds, until they come back with full health, which costs a stock. When all stocks are costed, the character will be declared out for the remainder of the match until the end. Another way to lose all of your health is by falling off the stage. The character will be respawned after falling off the stage. Falling off the stage without being hit will cause a self-destruct. The character will also have a meter which is half smaller the length of the character's health meter starts out empty, but when attacked, will fill up. If it's full, the character will be stunned for a few seconds, leaving them up for a free hit. When not attacked for a certain amount of time, the meter will depleted until it's fully depleted. There is also another meter which is quarter larger the length of the health meter. When attacking or being hit, it will fill up. When it's filled up fully, the player can perform a Final Smash, where the character will perform a very strong attack as a last resort to finish the match with a close call. If the player breaks open a Smash Orb, the meter will be fully filled up.
In Team Mode, there's a new mechanic added when you are teamed up with a character from the same series (or have series that are similar to others), you could perform a Final Team Smash, which is the same thing as a normal Final Smash, but a lot stronger. Another new mechanic is the Wall Climb and possibly the Wall Walk. Wall Climb means you can climb on the walls, and even the ceilings in this game. Wall Walk, even though not confirmed yet, means you'll possibly walk on walls in some manner.
Modes[]
Smash Mode[]
To be added...
Classic Mode[]
Classic Mode returns from the previous installments to this game. The Fiend's Scale reappears as well, however, after beating 9.0, you can go up to 9.1 to 10.0. The player can now choose where they want to go, meaning there will be a different set of enemies to fight. Before battling, there is a slot machine below the character who you are fighting and the stage you will be fighting on that will give you a custom part, coins, stickers, trophies and nothing. You can also bet on how much coins you will get. If you win, you'll get back your coins. If you lose, you will lose your betted coins. After winning, you will get whatever you got on the slot machine as well and even the trophies you collected beforehand. After five matches, you'll face the final boss, which is Cruel Hand, the father of Master and Crazy Hand. Ater defeating him, you beat Classic Mode and the trophy of the character you picked from the start appears, then the credits roll. If the intensity is at 5.0 or higher, Cruel Hand will transform into Cruelty, the true form of Cruel Hand. After defeating Cruelty, he explodes. If playing on Intesnity 8.0 or higher a portal appears, sucking in the player, sending them into another world to deal with projectiles that are thrown in the battlefield. After a few seconds, the player escapes.
Smashathon[]
Smashathon is a game where 8 players face each other in a series of events like Target Smash, Platform Smash, Crystal Smash, Wave Smash and Survival Smash. Winning the events will earn you points, losing will not. After five games, the Final Battle will commence, either Stamina Smash, Multi-Man Smash, Smash Race, or Smash Climb. Winning will earn you the most points, placing 2nd will earn you half of the most points, placing 3rd will earn you quarter of the most points and 4th or below will earn you nothing. The results screen shows and the player who placed 1st in the leaderboard will be shown doing their victory poses while the other player do their losing animations.
Smash Sports[]
Smash Sports, as its name implies, is a mode where four players will face each other in multiple sporting activities, like soccer, basketball, golf, etc. After each activity, the player who places 1st gets 500 smash points, 2nd gets 300 smash points 3rd gets 100 smash points and 4th gets 50 smash points, which are converted into smash coins after the activities are done. After about 4 activities, the game ends and the winner gets all their points (which are divided by 100) converted into coins. Even if you lose, you will still get your coins (but the points are divided by 1,000).
Smash Tales[]
Smash Tales is like a story mode of the game. You learn all about the Hands Family and play as multiple characters (mostly the starters and rarely unlockables) throughout the game. Cruel Hand is the main antagonist and mostly tries to turn characters into stickers, however, his minions want him to turn them into trophies, so he changed his mind and turns them into trophies.
